William Tintor

Carson Fellow
School of Geography and Development and the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research

Will Tintor is a second-year PhD student in the School of Geography and Development and the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research. His current research uses tree-ring records from ancient bristlecone pines to develop a hydro-climatological reconstruction for the Upper Rio Grande and Colorado Rivers. Prior to his PhD, he worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as a hydrologist focused on water rights and wetland restoration projects. Because of this work, he is interested in the application of paleoclimatic records to better inform water management practices and policies. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental geosciences from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s degree in water resources from the University of New Mexico.
