Matthew Roby

Carson Fellow
School of Natural Resources and the Environment

Matthew Roby is a PhD student in the School of Natural Resources and the Environment where he studies biosphere-atmosphere interactions. His research examines how water-availability regulates the uptake and release of carbon in semiarid ecosystems. The goal of his research is to enhance understanding and develop strategies to conserve plant, soil, and water resources in the context of global environmental change. Before coming to UA, Matt worked with a NASA group to investigate air quality in California, and he holds a Master’s degree in agricultural meteorology from Iowa State University.
