Marshall Ledford is a Genetics PhD Student in the Meredith Lab. Originally from Georgia, he obtained a B.A. in Biology from Vassar College in New York. Now, his research is focused on understanding trace gas metabolism during early succession, in extreme environments, and over evolutionary history. He hopes to apply this research to broaden our understanding of biosphere-atmosphere interactions and their implications for the climate, ecosystem health, astrobiology, and life detection.

Marshall's research looks at Volatile Compound Metabolism: Evolution, Atmospheric Interactions, and Biosignature Applications.
