Leah Veldhuisen studies the intersections of evolution and ecology in montane plant communities. As a PhD student in the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Department, she investigates how evolutionary history and species interactions affect the coexistence of plants. She also hopes to understand how climate change will affect these relationships. Before coming to the University of Arizona, Leah worked as a naturalist at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and conducted field work in high elevation ecosystems in Colombia and Bolivia. She holds a BA in Organismal Biology & Ecology from Colorado College.
