Imran Hossain Mithu is a PhD student in Environmental Health Sciences at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) at the University of Arizona. He holds an MPH from BRAC University in Bangladesh. 

Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Imran held research and teaching roles at BRAC University and icddr,b, contributing to international projects on zoonotic disease spillover, urban health equity, and environmental risk analysis. He has served as a research fellow and technical advisor and has extensive experience in participatory methods, risk communication, and capacity-building in underserved communities.

Imran’s current research focuses on the environmental determinants of neurodegenerative diseases and the impact of climate change on neurological health. His work combines big data analytics, environmental toxicology, and spatial data modeling to understand better how chemical exposures and heat-related stressors affect vulnerable populations. He is especially interested in translating scientific findings into policies that address environmental injustices in the Global South.
