She/Her

Astrid Liu is a first-year MFA Creative Writing candidate who writes multimedia poetry and fiction. She was born and raised in San Francisco, and received her BA in Psychology at UC Berkeley. She’s excited by the dimensions that open up at the intersections of digital media, video, and text. Her dream is to add her work to a growing canon which sparks honest conversations about the complex history and stories of Chinese immigrants in the US, and the broader experience of growing up as a queer child of immigrants.

Astrid's research explores the intersections between cultural preservation in Chinese diasporas through food, and the realities of environmental and agricultural justice.
