Anu Sethuraman
Anu is a 2nd year PhD student at the University of Arizona studying Environmental Science with a minor in Hydrology. While growing up in Tucson’s unique desert, she began to gain interest in the environmental sciences. She pursued this interest while attending the University of California, San Diego for her undergraduate degree, where she graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Systems and a B.A. in Urban Studies and Planning. Now as a graduate student, she carries out interdisciplinary research at the edges of physical, natural, social and community sciences to solve emerging environmental and sustainability challenges. She is part of Dr. Joe Hoover’s Geospatial Environmental Health Laboratory, where she conducts community-based participatory research with Indigenous and rural communities and employs mixed methodologies to better understand and combat environmental justice issues
