Savannah Fuqua

Savannah grew up in the rolling hills of rural west Tennessee. After obtaining an Environmental Biology degree from Washington University in St Louis, they worked as a coastal dune restoration ecology intern at Point Reyes National Seashore in California. Working in the dunes, Savannah experienced firsthand the challenges that come from managing invasive plant species. Now, as a PhD student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Savannah is investigating how invasive plants alter soil communities and their processes. Their goal is to use this research to help restoration ecologists improve their practices and help ecosystems recover from invasion.
