Alison is a PhD Student in the School of Geography, Development and Environment broadly interested in water resource issues in arid lands. Her current research examines the landscape of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) around water globally, with a focus on the motivations and interactions of diverse actors involved in water PPPs and the ways they exhibit agency and authority. Prior to coming to UArizona, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer and worked at the Hillary Clinton Center for Women’s Empowerment in Morocco, teaching health, fitness, and NGO development. For her MA thesis, she returned to Morocco, examining the effects of large-scale irrigated agriculture on water supply and rural livelihoods. Part of her water PPP research will include a case study of water PPPs in Morocco. She is also a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and works with an interdisciplinary research group studying green infrastructure in Tucson.
