Yiyi Huang
Yiyi Huang is a Ph.D. student in Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences. She graduated from Sun Yat-sen University, China, with Bachelor of Science in atmospheric sciences. She has been working on Arctic clouds and radiation and their feedbacks on Arctic sea ice with professor Xiquan Dong since January 2015. Under the background of global climate change, Arctic sea ice has been declining rapidly in the past few decades. Based on multiple satellite/surface observations, reanalysis, and model simulations, her current research involves investigating the relationships between springtime cloud/radiation properties and September sea-ice minimum so that we can better understand the Arctic sea-ice trend and variability in the past and future. So far, she has two first-authored articles published in high-impact academic journals.
