Alexis Hagestad

Alexis Joy Hagestad (she/they) is a first-year MFA student in Photography, Video, and Imaging (PVI) at the School of Art. Born and raised in Missoula, Montana, she holds a B.F.A in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She has exhibited her work internationally and recently attended an artist residency in Sitka, Alaska. Hagestad’s research focuses on the impact of the Anthropocene on Mountain West environments and the communication processes between different species and interspecies in familial structures. Currently, she is researching the visualization of bat echolocation within bat species throughout Arizona.
