The 2016 Carson Scholars Program application process is currently closed. Carson Scholarships are give to excellent and diverse graduate students at the University of Arizona who are studying renewable energy, environment and social justice. One-year scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded for the 2016 calendar year. Scholarships are sponsored by the Institute of the Environment, the Agnese Nelms Haury Program in Environment and Social Justice, the UA Renewable Energy Network, Biosphere 2 and private donations.
Susan Joy Hassol will be giving the talk, "Telling the Climate Change Story" on Thursday, March 29 at 4:00 PM in the Rincon Room of the Student Union. A climate change communicator, analyst, and author known for her ability to translate science research into plain English, Hassol directs the Boulder, CO-based organization Climate Communication. Her presentation will be featured as part of the UA's School of Earth and Environmental Sciences' EarthWeek 2012.
